The reviews for the Aurora C1210 12-Sheet Professional Crosscut Paper Shredder are mixed and although there are more positive reviews than there are negative, there are enough people that had some issues with this machine to cause some concern.

There are a number of people that are very happy with this machine. One reviewer said that the Aurora C1210 is an “excellent high quality product that we have used relentlessly since receiving.” Another person said that they bought this machine and then shredded five years worth of bank and credit card statements, filling two 13 gallon garbage bags. They said that the machine worked very well and the motor case didn’t even get warm after plowing through all those documents.

Although there were a number of positive reviews there were a number of issues that people mentioned as well. One reviewer points out that the word “professional” should not be in the name of this product because it is not professional grade. This person says that it’s probably okay for a personal use shredder but for them it is not able to get through enough documents in a short enough time to make it worthwhile. They also said that shredding CDs with this machine didn’t work very well and it rejected about half of the ones they put into it.

 Another reviewer points out that the basket of the shredder is flimsy and they say it broke at two different points after a few uses. To make matters worse there is a security sensor that does not allow the shredder to work without the basket so if the basket is damaged the whole unit becomes unusable.
