After searching dozens of shopping sites the majority of reviews we found online for this product were on Amazon.com, where there are over 35 user reviews.

The people that gave this machine positive reviews said that it works quite well and is able to shred many sheets at once. Some people are reporting that they put unopened junk mail into the machine and it shreds the entire envelope without any problems. People are also reporting being able to shred documents for 30 to 45 min. at a time before the machine starts to overheat, which is a lot longer than other machines are able to do.

Most paper shredder manufacturers seem to like to exaggerate the number of sheets that theri macnines can handle at one time. The Royal Machines RL170MX is no different, while they claim you can run 17 sheets through in one pass most reviewers are saying that 8 to 10 is more realistic.

Although the positive reviews outnumber the negative reviews there were too many negative comments to ignore. A number of people report having issues with the machine or having it die completely after a few months of light use.
