There are only a handful of reviews online for the Royal Machines VF1700MX Bronze Shredder but unfortunately the majority of those are very poor. This machine received an average user rating of just 2.3 stars. There was one review online that came from someone that said it is a long-lasting machine despite heavy use. They said that for them the Royal Machines VF1700MX has been a real workhorse. He says he abuses this machine and even shreds corrugated cardboard boxes and he has never had any problems with it.

Unfortunately, most of the other reviews online came from people who did find problems with this machine. The only other decent review online for this machine came from someone that has only owned it for a couple of days. One reviewer bought two machines the Royal Machines VF1700MX and the Fellowes SB-87Cs and did a side-by-side comparison. On paper these two machines look almost identical and in fact the Royal Machines VF1700MX even looks slightly better than the Fellowes machine. However, in actual practice the Fellowes SB-87Cs blows the Royal Machines VF1700MX out of the water.

According to this reviewer the Fellowes machine is able to tear through everything you put into it with relative ease whereas the Royal Machines VF1700MX struggles with all of the same tasks. This reviewer returned the Royal Machines VF1700MX Bronze Shredder for a refund and stated “I would not recommend this shredder to anyone who expects heavy-duty performance as advertised on the box.”
